The unfinished ,tallest Shiv Linga beautifully carved and exceptionally designed- Bhojpur Temple

Bhojpur is a town of historical and religious importance in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh and is a center of attraction in between people around this place and the Central India. Bhojpur is situated on the Betwa River, and it is around 28 km from Bhopal. The temple is present on the center of ancient OM Valley, recently been proved by the satellite image. The temple here well known as Bhojeshwar Temple, is an incomplete temple of Lord Shiva, the linga is 7.5 feet (2.5 m) high in its Sanctum. It is crafted out of single rock and the building is under the Archaeological Survey of India.

Historical Importance 
The name Bhojpur of the place corroborates its association with Bhoja. The temple is believed to have been constructed by the 11 th century Parmara King Bhoja. Tradition also attributes to him the establishment of Bhojpur and the construction of now -breached dams here in the area.There is no archaeological evidence from Bhojpur before the eleventh century .The Building Of Bhojpur Temple where the Linga is , in the inner cell or Garbhagrah , supported by massive pillars , surmounted by an elegant corbelled dome . The outer walls and structure of the temple was never build.

The Main Temple And Idol
This huge templr was established in year 1100 Ad . The miraculous idol of principal deity Bhagwan Shantinath in standing posture is installed in the huge sanctum of this temple.

Quarries and Roch Drawings 
The Temple at Bhojpur is unique in being left unfinshed , with a series of large architectural parts still located in the quarries where the stones were cut and carved . There are so many structures  of stones carved into pillars . 

Cave Of Parvati 
Opposite to the temple on the west side of the gorge facing the Betwa , is a rock -shelter or cave , now occupied by religious mendicants .. Popularly know as Parvatis Cave , the cave contains a lot of sculptures and fragments dating 11 th century .

Remains of Bhoj’s Royal Palace 
On the low plateau above the Cave of Pārvatī and opposite the Bhojpur temple are the remains of Bhoja’s palace. Only the foundations survive. The complex is laid out as a grid in a square, with a courtyard in the centre.

Every year, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Makar Sankranti  a big mela is organized at Bhojpur. The cave temple , said to have water streams which twist and turn into dark corners

Gufa Mandir at Lalghati in Bhopal is said that it has been discovered by late Swami Narayandas in the year 1949. The spacious temple  comprises of many natural caves on which rest the beautiful idols of Gods from the Hindu mythology, including those of Lord Shiva, Ram- Laxman, Sita, Lord Hanuman and Goddess Durga. A place of great spirituality, the Gufa Mandir sees many devotees on any given day. Inside the natural cave temple are little streams of water, which twist and turn into dark corners, making a visit to this place a surreal experience. There is also a Sanskrit college inside the temple premises.

In the premises 
It has sanskrit college which is very famous .Shri Ramanand Sanskrit College, run by the Cave Temple, got government approval in 1989. Here, for the sake of Sanskrit education, children admitted to the 8 th of the 12 to 14 years of age are admitted. After admission to the ashram, the education to Acharya (MA) is given by the free residential system. This school belongs to the Sanskrit Board of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. In the temple, Sanskrit Communication Camps are also organized in association with Sanskrit Bharti.
Temple Fair 
In addition to a large fair that takes place on the holy festival of Mahashivaratri , fairs are also held in Navaratri and Sawan. Various religious-cultural programs are organized in Navaratri. Apart from this, crowds and cultural events are also seen on national festivals.
